Reconstruction of the Ferry wharves of Porquerolles and Tour Fondue
Demolition and reconstruction, in a very short period of time, of 4 wharves, including 2 in the Port de la Tour Fondue and 2 in the Port de l’ïle de Porquerolles for a total length of 170 m and 4 m wide, as well as 2 ro-ro berths and a 20-metre sheet pile quay. The work consisted in demolishing the existing wharves and recreating the foundations of the new ones, which are made of single piles driven into the bedrock with a diameter of 914 mm, topped with a prefabricated reinforced concrete headframe. The decks, made of coloured reinforced concrete, were made in the company’s own workshop in Fos-sur-Mer. A heating system made it possible to manufacture and handle one deck every day.
